Despite the process to make the timber smooth and flat, being a natural product solid wood can contain a variety of different features and characteristics. Please note that placing your item above or near to a heat source can cause movement within the timber which may cause the timber to twist or bow. Clear Protective Oil All our solid oak furniture is finished with a clear protective oil that is hand applied as part of our our handcrafting process. As the oil soaks into the oak it leaves it with a matte finish and enhances the natural look of the grain and features, bringing it to life. It also provides a protective finish to the natural timber. As with all natural wood furniture we would strongly recommend that you protect our oak furniture from heat and moisture, with the use of coasters, heat protective mats and other precautionary measures. When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes.
