To be at the front of the queue when we open the order book again, just add your email address to pieces you’re interested in, and you’ll receive an email from us when you can order.*** Our Wylam collection of solid oak and painted timber planters and furniture was inspired by the leafy village of Wylam which is nestled on the banks of the River Tyne. It’s a collection of timeless outdoor pieces that will really make your garden or outdoor space the place to be this Summer. Just like all our outdoor planters and furniture, it’s handcrafted and made-to-order in just 4 weeks in our workshop in the North East of England. All our garden planters are made from the finest quality timbers, and treated to ensure it endures everything that a British summer can throw at it! In the Wylam Collection, the planters are made from kiln-dried solid oak and hand-finished with protective oil. Each corner of the planter is made from tanalised pine and hand-painted in a choice of two colours – Dark Slate (as seen in the pictures) or Sage Green. You can order samples of the oak and the painted finishes from our Samples section to see the colour options to choose from, as well as the finish that the protective oil gives to the kiln-dried oak. Also in the Wylam Collection are a collection of garden benches, seats and outdoor dining sets. Complete the look in your outdoor space with the Wylam Outdoor Dining Table, Wylam Garden Bench, Wylam Garden Seat, Wylam Trough and more. If you have a smaller space, or a wall that you want to make beautiful, take a look at the Wylam Wall Planter, it’s a great way to create a vertical garden, and doubles as a handy spot to place a drink on a warm evening in the garden! Finishes & Wax Solid Oak and Pine Timbers To make these solid wood outdoor planters we select top quality, kiln-dried oak and tanalised pine. These timber selections are chosen specifically for their ability to withstand the great outdoors. This leaves in lots of natural timber characteristics and features. Mother Nature’s own stamp of approval. Due to the nature of solid wood every piece will be different. Truly unique. One of a kind. Please note: All sizes and weights given are approximate. As we only use natural, solid timber, measurements can change slightly from one piece to another. Protective Finishes To finish our Wylam Collection outdoor planters, we use protective oils and paints. The kiln-dried solid oak is treated with protective oil, while the tanalised pine is hand-painted in a choice of two colours. These finishes are professionally applied with the highest attention to detail. When viewing on screen, colours can look different from one screen to another. This makes it less reliable than seeing the real finished timber before your own eyes. Because you want the perfect colour for your home these finishes are available to purchase as small samples. In the Wylam Collection, you have a choice of two colours for the hand-painted corners of the planters – Dark Slate (as seen in the pictures) or Sage Green. Assembly & Care No Assembly Needed The Wylam Collection Outdoor Planter comes fully assembled, so you can take delivery, then just get on with enjoying your sunny days outdoors.   Care & Maintenance Like all natural wood planters, your solid oak planter needs regular care and attention. We recommend that you refresh the finishes at least every year, more regularly if you feel it needs it, using teak oil on the solid oak and a quality exterior paint on the painted timbers. If you decide to closely match the colours we used on the painted wood, we would recommend Cuprinol Garden Shades Urban Slate and Wild Thyme as close colour matches (information correct as of May 2021). Delivery & Returns Turnaround & Delivery As these outdoor oak planters are handmade and made-to-order we do require some time for manufacturing. This will normally take 2 weeks.
