Langley Oak Sideboard – Sunday Stroll
Product Details A truly stunning piece of handmade furniture, the Langley Oak Sideboard is the statement piece from this collection of modern farmhouse furniture. At 160cm in length, it provides a focal point for any living or dining space, drawing the eye to its solid oak top and open shelves, as well as its handpainted frame. There’s plenty of storage space for all your essentials and not-so essentials. Use the solid oak open shelves to display vases and picture frames, while the deep cupboards can store away items you don’t want to see every day, but still need close at hand. Perhaps you’d choose to use it like a traditional sideboard, housing drinks, tableware and glasses. But that doesn’t have to be its only use. Many customers choose to place our sideboards under a wall-mounted TV, using the storage inside to house DVDs, gadgets and other multimedia essentials neatly out of sight. Or those with larger homes use them in their hallways, creating the perfect place to drop everything as you come through the door, and house those things that clutter up all hallways – hats, gloves, keys, footwear, dog leads and more. The tactile solid oak tabletop of the Langley Oak Sideboard rests on angular legs which are handpainted in a choice of five colours. Underneath the tabletop, you’ll find four solid oak shelves, two on either side of a large storage space with double shaker-style doors, each with a solid oak doorknob. It’s part of our Langley Oak collection of furniture. Each piece is handmade and hand-painted in our workshop. For the paint, our trend experts have carefully selected a handful of colours from the earth-friendly, British paint brand, Earthborn. Colours that we believe fit beautifully into modern homes and reflect current interiors trends, as well as timeless classics. So, whatever your style, we think we’ve got the colour for you. Wood, Finish & Paint Solid Rustic Timber The Langley Oak tops are made from the finest oak timbers. Each top is first cut to size, before being hand-sanded to a smooth finish and then hand-oiled. As a result, the oak is sleek and refined, showcasing the natural grain, with a finish you can’t help but run your hand over. Of course, oak is a natural product, so no two tabletops will look exactly the same. Each will be truly unique, One of A Kind (Oak!). The wood we use for the painted sections of the Langley Oak collection is tulip wood. We chose to work with this timber because it’s strong and is naturally light in colour, making it a good base on which to hand-paint your chosen colour. It’s worth noting, that if you place any wooden furniture near a heat source it can cause movement within the timber. Earth-Friendly Paint Colours We’re proud to use Earthborn as the paint on our Langley Oak furniture collection. We chose to work with them on this collection because, quite frankly, we’re massive fans of what they do. Like us, Earthborn is a British company, and, also like us, they’re committed to creating products that are top quality and kind to the environment. We’ve used Earthborn’s Eggshell No.17 on our furniture because its durable, washable and scuff-resistant. It’s also eco-friendly, with a water-based formula, and a beautiful silk sheen finish. Earthborn has a colour palette of paints that we fell in love with. We couldn’t choose which one to use on our Langley Oak collection, so we decided to go with quite a few! In the end, we chose colours that we know are going to be trending this year – the beautiful muted green of Sunday Stroll, gentle pastels of Paw Print and Kissing Gate, and for a more vibrant and eye-catching colour pop, Puddling. We also went with Wood Smoke, a luxurious grey-white, that’s a timeless classic. So, whatever your style, we think we’ve got the colour for you.
